the forgotten ornaments of the past
The next series of pictures I’m posting is a part of a small documentation I did. It took place two years ago in my hometown Varna (Bulgaria).
Seeing the city through the eyes of an architecture student was quite different, even shocking at times. I started noticing these ornaments all over the city, they were the pride of the house owner once, the finishing touches by the architect , made by sculptors and artists.. In a time ,that has very little to do with the age of the Secession, these are left to fall into ruin.
The buildings in the old district,where the photos were taken, were build in the beginning of the 20th century.
